Ten years ago this month, we got a front-row seat to the arresting, stirring ministry of praise-dance and its God-imbued power to share a special-something about God' love for people.
It was the debut of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Youth Praise Dance Ministry, who captured the attention of the congregation, we'd like to believe, directing it back to God.
The group debuted to "I Love The Lord" song (organized under the direction of Sis. Jessica Thornton Kriechief, with inspiration from Sis. Cassandra Bridges); the song was special in and of itself, because it was the timeless retelling of a song many of the young dancers' parents, grandparents and maybe great-grandparents had grew up listening to.
So, happy 10th Birthday, Mt. Zion Baptist Church Youth Praise Dance Ministry --- Groups A, B and sometimes C!! Many faces have changed and come and gone, but, overall, you hung in there, And, you're still looking, and ministering, good!!
Here, we present the Praise Academy of Dance Jamaica ministering to the Whitney Houston version of "I Love The Lord."
