Christians, Everywhere, "now" is the time for us to rise up and live out the reason we have Hope.
We're sure that pastors across America delivered that message on today, the first Sunday after the 2016 Presidential election, but here is one take on the election that is profitable for all of us.
The sermon was "The Christian's' Response to the Elections," presented by Pastor Chris Swims at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Southern Illinois. He preached from Daniel 2:21.
"He controls the course of world events;
He removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise and
knowledge to the scholars.' ~ Daniel 2:21

How should we respond to this presidential election?
1). We grieve, but we do not grieve as if we have no hope;
Our response should be biblical, not political --- trust God. There is an agenda that God wants to accomplish. . . . No political party can hinder the work of God. . . . God has already gone before us.
We must remember Who Is in control (Romans 8:31). We serve a GOD Who can go above the Electoral College.
2). Pray for the President-Elect (1 Timothy 2:2-4). We must be obedient to God's Word . . . We must 'die' --- 'die' is in the middle of 'obedient' --- to ourselves. We must pray with an evangelistic thrust/motive.
3). We must respect and honor the office of President: Romans 13:1-2. 'Everyone must submit to governing authorities.' If we disobey, we shall be punished. (verse 2). People said the same thing about Saul/Paul ~ he had a 'Damascus Road' moment. Pray that God will alter the President- Elect's plans. Don't engage in negative conversation.
We must be the salt of the earth ~ Matthew 5:13.
Why must I respond this way? Because it honors and pleases God!'
His Provision for our lives is not predicated upon who's in office. It is predicated upon His Love for us!'
