Happy Black History Month! We celebrate praise dance personalities

BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGHT:  Pastor Sabrina McKenzie
We had this idea to celebrate one person or concept a month from the praise-dance world, for Black History Month, and were encouraged in it when someone else mentioned it to us as an idea.
So, in honor of Black History Month 2017, which is celebrated in February, we will note a person or ministry each of the remaining days of the month.
Our first spotlight for Black History Month is Pastor Sabrina McKenzie, founder of Dancing Preachers International, the International Dance Commission and E.P.I.C., a women's empowerment movement that focuses on raising awareness about domestic violence.  She is also the creator of the Liturgical Dance Day, Sept. 7th, and is trying to influence dance ministers around the globe to have this day recognized in their respective cities and states.
We chose her because when we came into the praise-dance ministry, she was one of the first people we "encountered" online, putting forth this concept called "dancing preachers."
She was born in New York and attended college at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she birth her praise-dance ministry,  She also ministered with the dance ministry at Bishop Eddie Long's New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta.  She is the author of "Dance With Purpose" and the creator of a liturgical dancewear line being introduced.
This is her 12th year of hosting the "Dancing Preachers International Conference," this one, from July 25 to 30, 2017, in Orlando, Florida.  These conferences have been held across the globe, including in Atlanta, New York City and Los Angeles and on the islands of Barbados, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.  These conferences have been attended by worshippers from more than 23 countries and 42 states, according to her website, www.DancingPreachers.com.
Past presenters at her conferences have included Dr. Myles Monroe; Dr. Aimee Kovacs, author of "Dancing Into the Anointing;" Dr. Jamal Bryant; Dr. Medina Pullings; among countless others.
