On yesterday, crowds of people showed up in person or watched online, to say a final goodbye to Eagle Monica Beverly, a fireball of energy and passion for God and dance ministry.
She was a passionte force for trying to unite dance ministries, particularly those in her native Illinois, and perhaps as they showed up to honor her legacy, she had achieved one of her dreams. She was one of the administrators of the Illinois Dance Ministers Network (on Facebook), which is where we (we think!) came to know her. On that venue, she frequently hosted live chats with dance ministers ~ entitled "Dance Ministry Q & A" ~ where pertinent issues in the dance ministry community were discussed.
Since she was 18 years old, she led the dance ministry at her church, Jordan Temple Baptist Church near Chicago, and for the past few years, led a consortium of dance ministers ~ from various churches ~ in worship at The Altar Church in Chicago.
