Dallas playwright looking for praise dancers, mimes for "Tears From Heaven" play

Praise dancers, mimes sought for Dallas stage production
DALLAS — In playwright Micheal Mitchell’s opinion, people watch and listen to Christian plays and dramas (including those praise dance) and learn as much as they do, maybe more than the preached sermon.
That’s why Mitchell, a playwright, is testing out his theory with a new play, “Tears From Heaven,” that he’s planning to open in Dallas.  “Tears From Heaven,” inspired by James Weldon Johnson's “God’s Trombone,” is a collection of five poetry-reading vignettes about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ — from his time in the Garden of Eden, to his crucifixion, to his resurrection.
“(It seems) that films have a lot of more pull than the church does, have more of an impact,” Mitchell said.  “I want to open up the Bible so people can understand it, because a lot of people are going to churches but they’re not really hearing the pastor.”
He is looking for mime and dancers to give life to some of the poems in the play.  Anyone interested is asked to contact Michael at 972.795.5203 or via email at  blueprintpicturesstudio@yahoo.com.  The parts are open to worship artists with all levels of experience; he said he is working with a choreographer who will teach those chosen for the parts.
He’s planning that this play be the start of a traveling Christian performing arts company, Blueprint Pictures Studios.
He is a member of Christ Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Dallas. He studied at the Art Institute of Dallas and at KD Studios.
