Last month, we asked our praise-dance community to take a survey on 'who' they are and 'why' they do what they do.
Here are some preliminary results:

❥ Ministry foundation (more than one response allowed)
‣ Praise dance: 73.17 percent
‣ Worship flag: 43.90 percent
‣ Worship mime: 26.83 percent
‣ Drama/Christian Drama: 9.76 percent
‣ Pageantry: 7.32 percent
‣ Another worship-arts ministry: 4.88 percent
‣ None of the above: 7.32 percent
❥ Length of time in praise-dance or worship-arts ministries:
‣ Less than 1 year (beginning): 4.88 percent
‣ 5 to 15 years: 34.14 percent
‣ 15 to 25 years: 41.02 percent
‣ More than 25 years: 4.88 percent
❥ What drew you to your ministry?
‣ God: 82.93 percent
‣ Already skilled or talented in that area: 26.83 percent
‣ Being influenced by other ministers (worship artists): 26.83 percent
‣ Asked to do so by my church pastor or another leader or church member: 17.07 percent
‣ Other: 9.76 percent, including . . . Was at a worship conference as a singer and saw a workshop on dance. In the workshop God revealed that dance was another way to worship Him and I felt called to start dancing on my own
❥ Did you receive instruction in your ministry? From what source?
‣ NO: 34.15 percent
‣ YES
‣ Conferences and workshops attended: 51.22 percent
‣ Instructional books/manuals and DVDs: 31.71 percent
‣ Minister outside my church or ministry: 31.71 percent
‣ Online schools or sessions: 19.51 percent

TEN (The Eagles Network); EITI (Eagles International Training Institute); dance/belly dance; ballet, modern and leadership classes inside and outside of church; at first nno, but realized I needed to enhance what God was doing in me, so I started taking ballet and worship-dance classes
