Praise Dance Black History Month Tribute (Day 5): Ascension Dance Ministry
This day's Praise Dance Black History Month Tribute goes out to the ladies of Ascension Dance Ministry ~ Venetia James, Melinda McCain and Wanel Thomas.
     The ladies' ministry, formed when they met while in college, is based in San Francisco, California.  They called their Word-based teachings on liturgical dance "Theography."
     For eight seasons, these ladies helped articulate the presentations for eight seasons of the "Bobby Jones Gospel" show until its end in 2016, and they were also the featured dance ministry in earlier years of the "Total Praise" calendar (2011 to 2015).  Their image also graced other worship-arts products, such as Bible covers.
     We salute this dance ministry for being a representation of all the other dance ministry groups that formed — before and after them — to lead people in worshipping God and better understanding His Word.
